How our charts work
The Crown Country methodology, in plain English.
We combine Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and Shazam signals into a single weekly RLI score. Each platform is normalized (z-score) then weighted by reach — Spotify 35 %, Apple 25 %, YouTube 20 %, Deezer 8 %, Shazam 7 %, iTunes sales 5 %.
A Holt-Winters damped trend projects each track 4 and 8 weeks forward. Tracks gaining momentum are labelled Surging; declining ones Cooling. That's how we spot breakouts before they hit #1.
For Australia specifically, we pull the official Apple Music country chart directly from iTunes' public RSS feed — same data Apple displays in its app, refreshed every few hours.
